The sludge cake is pre-crushed by the stirring device of the feeding hopper, then conveyed by the twin-screw feeder to the main rotating drum, where the sludge will be crushed into small pieces of size 1-3 mm. The wall plates of the drum drives the small sludge particles forward, by lifting and dropping it, while being continuously stirred and crushed by the disintegrating shaft.
